South El Monte Business in the Running for $150,000 from Chase Mission Main Street Mission Grants Program
Residents of the South El Monte area have a easy, unique opportunity to support an up-and-coming local business. Lushes Curtains, a South El Monte-based curtain store, is competing for a grant from Chase as part of the Mission Main Street Grant Program.
Lushes Curtains (LushesCurtains.com) offers a variety of new and used curtains, such as flocking velvet and cotton velvet curtains. Fire-rated velvet curtains are also available to homeowners and businesses looking to provide an added layer of protection. A wide range of curtain tie backs and window valances will help complete the decor of any home or office space.
The Chase Mission Main Street Grant Program is an effort by one of America’ largest providers of financial services to support small businesses across the country. As part of the program, 20 businesses will receive a $150,000 grant; a trip to Google headquarters in Mountain View, CA, for a workshop with small business experts; a Google Chromebook laptop; and a $2,000 coupon which can be applied to a market research study.
In addition, all applicants who receive 250 votes will receive a $150 coupon toward a market research study, as well as a toolkit to help grow their businesses. Because of this, voting for Lushes Curtains allows voters to help make a positive impact on a local business.
The team at Lushes Curtains is looking forward to using proceeds from the grant to update their technology and make their ordering and fulfillment systems more efficient and effective. In addition, they also hope that the company is able to make a greater contribution to the economic health and vitality both of South El Monte and the Greater Los Angeles region.
In order to qualify, Lushes Curtains needs the support of 250 voters to be considered for the grant. Voters have until October 17 to vote for Lushes Curtains; after that date, a panel comprised of business representatives will sort through the applications and select 20 recipients. Panelists will include representatives from the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation, the National Veteran Owned Business Association, the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the National Urban League, and other business organizations.
